There are at least 6 reasons that underlie the importance of RBI, namely:
1. Resources.
The RBI provides important information to optimize the use of available resources for targeted inspection activities.
2. Identify Risk.
RBI better identifies risks so that it can avoid the threat of losses for failure, production stoppages, and environmental pollution.
3. Reliability.
RBI helps you -the Engineers- optimize the life of the equipment (assets).
4. Efficiency.
RBI can reduce the amount of equipment (assets) that must be inspected, on equipment that is a high priority.
5. On-Stream.
RBI can be done when the equipment is in operating condition (on-stream) and thus can reduce the risk of work accidents related to confined space work.
6. Information.
RBI provides up-to-date information on assets, which is used to improve performance and awareness of these assets.
